Board rules

These rules are disclosed to clarify the various responsibilities of all community members here on CCC-YA MEMBER REGISTRATION. They shall be adhered to by everyone to ensure that our board runs smoothly and provides a fun and productive experience for all of our community members and visitors.

  1. Create an owners association
    • Establish representation to facilitate positive change in the industry
    • Enable owner-to-owner networking
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to foster growth of the charter industry
    • Provide forum for owners to share best practices and industry concerns
    Support standard contracts
    • Support one standard contract that protects owner interests while maintaining acceptance across the broker community.
    • Establish standard addendums for standard situations
    Access to a standardized liability waiver

    Develop and maintain a code of ethics

    Collect industry statistics
    • Members contribute to and have access to industry statistics by which they can benchmark their business.

    Develop educational programs
    • Provide resources for owners new to the industry
    • Support crew members new to yacht business management
  2. Submissions Category

    1. Code of Conduct for Submissions. You agree to the abide by the following code of conduct regarding your Submissions: #
    2. CCC-YA Community Forum is here to help people use Services offered by CCC-YA and its Affiliates, along with Services in the Yacht Charter Industry more effectively. Unless otherwise noted, do not add Submissions about other topics. Your Submission should be within the category identified on the Community Site. Constructive feedback about product features is welcome as well. #
    3. Everyone should feel comfortable reading Submissions and participating in discussions. Do not include in your Submission or user name any material that is libelous, defamatory, indecent, harmful, harassing, intimidating, threatening, hateful, objectionable, discriminatory, abusive, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or offensive in a sexual, racial, cultural, or ethnic context. #
    4. Do not post polls or petitions or links to the same. The administration will be the only one that can. #
    5. Do not use the Forum Site to sell or market your products to others and do not post a URL unless it directly answers a user’s question. If any portion of your Submission, including any posted URL, results in any accrual of compensation or benefit to you, you must note this in your post by stating, “I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.” Your signature should NOT include any link to a website unless it is your own URL to your Charter Boat. #
    6. Material submitted must be your own work or work to which you have a license. You warrant and represent that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to the information contained in your Submission. #
  3. Membership Eligibility
    CCCYA was formed for Caribbean-based term charter yachts. CCCYA membership is recorded on a yacht-name basis, and one yacht equals one vote. We provide a secure forum to share information, exchange ideas and establish common practices that protect our interests. We verify each member’s eligibility to join and request that they disclose any known or perceived conflicts of interest.

    We welcome the following stakeholders into our online discussion forum:
    • Yacht owners
    • Managing crew
    • Owner-operators

    If your yacht is managed by a management company, you are still welcome to join our association. As an owner, you may choose to either join our online forum or sign our proxy for your management company to speak on your behalf. We give each of our strategic partners a chance to comment on our initiatives. #
  4. Membership Requirements
    All CCCYA members must:
    • Agree to our code of ethics and declaration of confidentiality
    • Report changes in membership eligibility
    • Disclose any known or perceived conflicts of interest

    CCCYA members shall:
    • Protect the interest of owners and managing crew while acting in a friendly and equitable way towards all other parties in the industry
    • Contribute to CCCYA and be active in its work
    • Be polite, helpful and respectful towards other members
    • Keep online yacht listings up-to-date and truthful
    • Maintain their yachts and keep them clean and tidy
    • Maintain yacht insurance, licenses, and safety standards
    • Segregate personal funds from charter deposits
    • Support each other on the water
    • Work collaboratively and not seek an advantage over one another; forums are not to be used for evaluation of crew or crew recruiting
